The 2023 Cannes Film Festival and Marché du Film was a welcome return to the glitz and glamour the live event is known for, especially since it’s three year absence in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Beside the stars in attendance like Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Natalie Portman, Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, Cate Blanchett, and many more – the market side of the industry event brought a lot of dazzle as well.
N5 Producers were on hand to meet with buyers and financers for a number of projects that were recently completed and a select few that are now in development. Cheif among them were the third season of the award-winning action series ‘Petrol‘ as well as the bold and daring new film from director Ant Horasanli ‘Harmony‘.
Although the weather was hit and miss, sales and acquisitions were steady for the company. N5 hopes to move into production on two projects later this year, the aforementioned ‘Harmony’ and a subsequent season for the award-winning crime series ‘The Runner‘.
N5 execs met with several Canadian and international producers, distributors, and financiers including a number of prominent filmmakers from Wallonia-Brussels at an industry networking event hosted by Ontario Creates.
